Using the World Bank Enterprise Survey data, we analyze performance gaps between male- and female-owned companies in three regions—Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECA), Latin America (LA), and Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). An overview of the emerging information technology that would impact its future development is also presented. The paper also examines regional trends in Single Window implementation, based on a survey of tenders documents issued by various countries in the recent years.
